OnePlus was founded on 16th December, 2013 with the stated aim of providing high-end smartphones at affordable prices. The company launched its first smartphone model, OnePlus One, on 23rd April, 2014. Distinguishing feature of OnePlus was its Cyanogen operating system. In December 2014, OnePlus One was launched in India exclusively through Amazon. Thereafter, the company announced its plans to open 25 service centres across India.
OnePlus launched OnePlus X in the year 2015, thereby marking its entry in the budget smartphone market.
